The University of Ibadan has officially announced the date for its 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony. The event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the International Conference Centre.
All fresh students are required to attend the matriculation ceremony. Attendance is compulsory, and no form of partying or food is allowed inside the venue. Parents and visitors are also advised not to bring food or engage in social activities on the premises. Those who cannot attend in person can watch the ceremony live via the university’s official website: www.ui.edu.ng.
Fresh students must collect their academic gowns from their respective faculties starting from Monday, April 14, 2025, upon presenting proof of payment for the 2024/2025 session. After the ceremony, students must return their gowns within 48 hours to avoid a fine of ₦1,000 per day. Additionally, any damage to the gown will attract a penalty of ₦10,000 and ₦5,000 for the cap.
All matriculants are expected to dress properly for the occasion and arrive at the venue by 8:00 a.m. Those who are not properly dressed or arrive late will not be allowed into the main hall. Caps must be worn correctly, with tassels positioned to the right. Female students should use hairpins to secure their caps. Each faculty will have designated seating areas, and matriculants must be seated by 9:30 a.m. for the ceremony to begin promptly.
