BREAKING: JAMB Reschedules UTME for Affected Candidates

A-Media Update — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the rescheduling of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 379,997 candidates in Lagos and the five states of the South East.

This was disclosed by the Registrar of the Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, on Wednesday in Abuja. He described the situation as a “sabotage” of the examination process and publicly accepted full responsibility. “The affected candidates will start getting text messages for reschedule starting from tomorrow,” he said. “I apologise, I take full responsibility.”

The announcement comes just after JAMB admitted to technical and operational errors that marred the 2025 UTME, resulting in poor performance across the country. Of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for the exam, over 1.5 million scored below 200 marks out of a possible 400.
