BREAKING: UNILORIN English Department Produces First-Ever First Class Graduates in 40 Years

History has been made at the University of Ilorin as the Department of English and Literary Studies, Faculty of Arts, has produced its first-ever set of First Class graduates since the inception of the institution in 1976.

The remarkable achievement was accomplished by two exceptional students from the department, Babatunde Olalekan Ibrahim and Lawal Selimoh Yetunde, both graduating in the institution’s 40th convocation, A-Media Update gathered

The Department of English, originally established as the Department of Modern European Languages, is known for its rigorous academic standards and competitive grading system. The fact that it had not recorded a first-class graduate in nearly five decades makes this accomplishment a significant milestone in its academic history.

The two record-breaking graduates have not only brought pride to the department but have also inspired current and future students to aim higher despite the department’s high academic demands.
