The University of Ilorin is set to begin its admission process for the 2025/2026 academic year after concluding the Post-UTME screening exercise, which took place from August 28 to September 4, 2025, and involved 20,590 candidates.
Prof. Moji Taibat Bakare-Odunola, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), urged candidates to check the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) regularly for updates about their admissions.
Prof. Bakare-Odunola highlighted that it is important for candidates to accept their admission offers quickly once they show up on CAPS, as the university follows all JAMB rules.
The director of the University’s CBT Centre, Prof. Kamilu Rauf praised the smooth running of the screening, which benefited from upgraded facilities and stable internet. He revealed that on the first day, 6,540 candidates took the test, 6,676 on the second day, 6,584 on the third day, and 761 on the final day. The university also held a special session for candidates who missed their tests because of illness or lateness, he remarked.
Prof. Rauf further commended the candidates for their good behavior and the staff for their professionalism. He also acknowledged the support from the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN.
With the screening now concluded, the university is focusing on admissions, and candidates are advised to regularly check their JAMB CAPS portals for admission updates and to accept offers promptly when recommended
