The timetable for the 2025 second series West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, also popularly called GCE, has been released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The WAEC GCE examination is mainly for:
School leavers who want to improve their grades.
Workers or adults who couldn’t take WAEC while in school.
Private learners or self-taught candidates who study outside traditional schools.
Participants will receive the same WAEC certificate as school candidates, plus the results are accepted by universities, polytechnics, and employers, just like the school version.
The WASSCE for private candidates exam will be held in centres across Ghana, Nigeria, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
According to the WAEC GCE timetable, the examination will begin on Friday, 24 October 2025, and it will end on Thursday, 18 December 2025.
